Le Alcove Alberobello - Puglia

One of the most fascinating features of Puglia are its trulli - the whitewashed, beehive shaped houses built from stone. In Alberobello, town which boasts the greatest concentration of these intriguing buildings, nine trulli have been sensitively restored by local masons, and equipped with modern facilities, to form the suites which make up the unique Le Alcove Resort.

Seven suites, each with their own entrance, are grouped together in the middle of Alberobello, the other two, the country suites, are just a few meters away. The interiors are simple, stone and whitewashed walls, with traditional tiled floors, but they have every comfort and all the accoutrements of today's technology - LCD Satellite television, Wi Fi connectivity etc. The minimalism of the ancient structures is complemented by the clever addition of tasteful touches of soft colour, interesting details and ornament, and simple, elegant stairways in those trulli which are on more than one level.
