Palazzo Guglielmo Vignacastrisi - Puglia

In the decades prior to its transformation into a period residence, Palazzo Guglielmo was the main focus of both working and social life in the little town of Vignacastrisi. Palazzo Guglielmo is situated in Salento, a mere three kilometers from the sea, between Otranto and Santa Maria di Leuca, in an area of Puglia in which for centuries agriculture played, and still does to some extent, a vital role in the local economy.

Throughout the guest house, traces of Palazzo Guglielmo's past, at the heart of the area's agricultural activities, can be seen. What were once stables, storehouses, kitchens, and workers lodgings have been restored and converted into beautiful public rooms and guest accommodation. The three large halls on the first floor of the building house a library, reading room, and lounge bar, this latter stocking an excellent selection of the wines produced in the Salento region. In the halls and on the terraces of the Palazzo wine tastings, cooking lessons and small events are hosted.

Hidden amidst Palazzo Guglielmo's delicately scented orange grove, the swimming pool and outdoor seating area are always a favorite with guests wishing to relax in the sunshine surrounded by the peace and tranquility of the Puglian countryside. The sea and the beaches of Salento are only a few minutes away from the residence.
