Alberobello Puglia
A truly unique town, known worldwide, for its cone shaped buildings or "Trulli".
Its fame is due to the original town architecture, comprised of a series of Trulli, cone shaped houses made from "chiancole" stones.
Alberobello is sited on two hills. The oldest part of Alberobello is on the Western side, with two districts, Monti and Aia Piccola; both have been awarded special status by U.N.E.S.C.O.
Tourists can visit the itinerant market, the market held in the Coreggia district, and watch the celebrations in honour of the patron saints Cosma and Damiano Medici.
Every Saturday and Wednesday evening Fornello Pronto, superb barbecues, are organized by the local butchers.
