Costernino is sited in the Murge territory, bordering on the province of Taranto. The town has an urban landscape typical of Medieval times. The architecture is predominantly white and includes buildings dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries.
There are important monuments such as the Church of St Nicola of Bari, the Tower of Palazzo Amati, the Church of St Cataldo nel Borgo, the Sanctuary of St Maria of Ibernia and the Church of St Quirico.
