Martina Franca: introduction

On the highest point of the Murge one finds Martina Franca, on the crossroads of the routes to Taranto and Brindisi.
Martina Franca is the most characteristic town of the Puglia region, attracting tourists with its fine examples of Baroque architecture, the Valley of the Trulli, the Valle d'Itria, and with its superbly mild summer climate.
In the old part of Martina Franca, the St Antonio Gateway, the Arch of St Stefano, Palazzo Ducale, the Collegiate of St Martino and the Palazzo of the University are well worth visiting.
