Trani's economy was in the past, as it is today, based on the port and its fishing industry. Traces of its history survive in the old part of the city in the Cathedral, the Church of St Andrea, the Church of Ognisanti, Palazzo Caccetta, Palazzo Lambert, the Church of St Maria de Russis, the Church of St Maria of Colonna and the Benedettina Abbey.
