The archipelago of the Tremiti islands is situated roughly 22 kilometers off the Northern most point of the Gargano. A protected marine reserve, the Tremiti islands have an unpolluted sea, rich in sea life.
The Tremiti islands are made up of the island of San Nicola, the historic heart of the archipelago, with its Castle and the Church of St Maria del Mare; the island of San Domino, rich in caves including the Grotta del Bue Marino; and the island of Capraia, an uninhabited island covered in Mediterranean vegetation.
